Star Wars: Uncut
I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but this is a cool concept. Star Wars: Uncut is a fan film being made in which Star Wars: A New Hop is divided into 15-second increments and a different fan is responsible for making those 15 seconds of the movie.

Don't you ever bring a dull message
Delivering a message is an art form. And often times you see senders who believe a little too much in the strength of their story, resulting in dull messages.
This is not the case with this Australian school.

Things iPhoto thinks are faces

If you're familiar with iPhoto's face recognition features, you may know that it sometimes recognizes some strange things as people. Here is a flickr group about that weird, in a funny way, phenomena: Things iPhoto Thinks are Faces
Confidence is everything
When the first guy gets the ball in mid-air his only thought is - "bicycle kick!" When the second guy gets the ball in mid-air his only thought is also "bicycle kick!"
Bicycle kicks is one hard move to make, but when you succeed it is darned pretty. The reason these guys think "bycycle kick" when others would think "retain" reads "confidence". They know they have a fair chance of hitting the goal with a bicycle kick, since this is the way they think, practice and play the game.
What goes through your mind when you get the ball in mid-air - "bicycle kick" or "retain"? Confidence reflects much of the work we do and goals like these aren't made by people who retain.
SOTB doesn't do it for me anymore
Do you remember the times when Technorati was the place you went to find blogs since they had the most comprehensive and relevant index.
Every six months Dave Sifry posted the State of the blogosphere report, which was incredibly anticipated back then. And not the least they had those graphs that displayed that blogging was doubling every six months, graphs that inspired. Yesterday the first part of the SOTB ´09 was released, and the focus is
Professional blogging activities, brands in the blogosphere, monetization, twitter & micro-blogging and bloggers’ impact on US and World events.
There are four days left of reporting from SOTB, but this doesn't make me super excited. The blogosphere has spent years analyzing and explaining the impact and importance of social media, and I feel we should move on.
I realize I don't speak for everyone, but today I want action, inspiration and results. And then I'd love some analysis on top of that. The SOTB just doesn't do it anymore for me.

I've been waiting for this to happen. It's time for the neighbourhood to go 3D.

This is a really cool video for Sony Ericsson made by the Swedish animation studio Varelsen, http://varelsen.com/
Disclaimer: Jung works with Sony Ericsson, but had nothing to do with this video.

Stop Talking About Social Media
Even though I think Seth Godin is brilliant I tend to get a bit tired of his quite preaching style. However, when he's brief I enjoy it. Like when he says Make a decision.
It doesn't have to be a wise decision or a perfect one. Just make one.
I'd like to apply that thought to social media - because I think it is time to stop talking about why companies should use it and start doing it. I admit I am guilty of having talked about it, but I am trying to quit.
Rather than talking, teaching, preaching about possible strategies and benefits, let's focus on ideas and conducting them. Sure, there are really smart projects being conducted within social media, and sure, there are still things that need explaining.
But I am certain there could be a whole lot more fun social media projects if we'd just stop talking and start doing.
What Amount of Information Sells?
I'm invited to speak at the 2009 IPRA Summit in London on the 30th of October. I really look forward to talking (on the topic "PR 2.0 or How to create a buzz on internet?") and meeting with the great speakers line up.
Talking about the line up – we were all asked to provide a "short bio". I interpreted "short" quite literally, and being the humble person that I am that meant two sentences. The other bios being a lot longer makes mine stand out a bit.
But is it good or bad? Does it make me look more interesting or less experienced? I think this is a case that can be applied to a lot of PR situations, press releases for instance.

Why Readtwit Makes My Blogging a Little Bit Easier
The time I have to blog varies greatly. My preference for post length also shifts between long, analyzing posts to shorter... less analyzing.
Links posted on Twitter is a lot of times a great source of inspiration, which is where Readtwit comes in. Readtwit is a service which extracts the links posted by the people you follow on Twitter, and delivers it in an RSS feed.
Not only can I go through the Twitter links, but it also includes the first 2000 characters in the linked post. This is absolutely brilliant and should definitely be a service in every RSS reader.
If you look at the bottom of the dump, you'll find the excellent feature to mute certain users as well. May I say you'll need it.
There Is a Fault in Reality
Conan O'Brien Banned From All of New Jersey
Night show host Conan O'Brien made a joke the other day about the city of Newark's health plan, saying it would consist of a bus ticket out of there. A quite harmless joke you might say, but the mayor of Newark thought differently, banning O'Brien from the city including one of New York's major airports.
So Conan brings it up in his show, making a few more jokes and inviting the mayor to his show (un-embeddable clip). The mayor gets even more mad and decides to unleash mayor hell.
It could be that the mayor of Newark has really bright pr people around him. It also could be that the mayor has no sense of humor what so ever.
